BIG Coffee Morning for Macmillan (23rd Sep )
Coffee & Cupcakes & The BIG Sheep Bake Off!
9am to 12noon
RAISING VITAL FUNDS FOR MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT
There is nothing quite like coffee and cake and a catch up with friends - so why not invite your friends to the BIG Sheep family attraction on Friday 23rd September and help raise vital funds for MacMillan Cancer Support and help grow their annual World’s BIGGEST Coffee morning.
As well as hosting a coffee morning in The BIG Sheep Restaurant from 9am to 12pm, The BIG Sheep team will be taking part in their own Cake Bake Off! Competition is already hotting up among the ‘flock’ with rumours circulating about enlisting the help of top local bakers, sourcing special ingredients and using secret family recipes. Claire Corry, Communications Manager at the BIG Sheep, who recently made her own wedding cake is a tough contender in the cake stakes but her colleague Nicola Alder, Events Manager, is determined to give her a run for her money and is already calling on her husband Jamie, director of Stable’s Bakery to give a helping hand. Phoebe Gibb, author of ‘Cupcakes’ and director of Baytree Catering at The BIG Sheep is determined to beat her 17-year-old daughter Megan who has threaten to pull out all the stops to beat her mum. Even Rick Turner, director of the flock, at The BIG Sheep is entering the Cake Off and although he is the dark horse of the competition he is determined to surprise everyone with his cake creation.
Event organiser, Anne Tattersall has already received promises of dozens of cup-cakes and cakes for the Coffee Morning from her friends in Torrington following a post she put on Facebook and said. ‘I posted on Facebook asking friends if they would consider baking something for our coffee morning and was overwhelmed by the number of people who came forward to offer their support but I shouldn’t have been surprised because that is just typical of the community spirit the people of Torrington have.’
Anne is extending the BIG Sheep Bake Off to anyone else who would like to participate and if you would like to enter, you can contact Anne on 0797 1696192 for more details.
The coffee morning invite is extended to everyone who would like to come along and support this great charity. ‘MacMillan Cancer Support does immense in our local community and nation-wide,’ says Anne, ‘And I hope lots of people come along to our fun and friendly coffee morning on Friday 23rd and show their support for MacMillan Cancer Care. And of course there will be lots of yummy cakes to buy and take home to share with your family and friends.
