Surfing Weekend - A Day Off the Beach!
Have you ever wanted to have a go at surfing but were just too scared to go into the sea to give it a try? If so, don’t despair because now you can test your surfing skills on dry land and see how long you can stay on a surf board. The BIG Sheep family attraction in Bideford will be hosting a charity surf and Hawaiian weekend on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July in collaboration with Tesco Bideford to raise vital funds for the stores chosen charity, Diabetes UK.
If you want to join the great summer surf party you can gain FREE entry to the attraction if you come dressed in either a Hawaiian shirt or a grass skirt. The offer applies to everyone so if you and your family want to save £12.50 each and enjoy a fabulous fun day out then dig out your beach and holiday gear and come along and ride the wave.
Sallie Mckay Roper, community Champion fundraiser at Tesco, is looking forward to the day and said. ‘This is going to be a cracking event and visitors to the BIG Sheep can have a go on a surf simulator and see how long they can stay on the board for. We will be asking surfers to make a donation of £1 for three goes and all money raised will go to our chosen charity which this year is Diabetes UK.’
Tesco will provide some great prizes ranging from buckets and spades to wet suits for the top three people who stay on the surf board longest in the following categories:-
· 5 years and under
· 6 to 10 years
· 11 to 14 year
· 15 years and over
Visitors will be able to take home their own bubbly beach photos by placing their head through our ‘Seaside Fat Lady’ board which will be framed with palm trees, so don’t forget your cameras.
Joining the party will be Billy Beach Ball, the Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parcs favourite mascot and Billy is hoping to have lots of fun with Woolly the BIG Sheep’s resident mascot.
Whatever the weather, sunny or rainy the Surf Party will be a party you just don’t want to miss.
